Place & Memory.

Places are the backdrop to our life, engaging our senses and enabling memories to come into focus. Place is the context, setting and reality to our life. I first realized the significance of places from my dreams. Each recollection began with a specific place that I could describe in detail and a lighting quality that illuminated the memory.  I create architectural representations because places remind us of times past and inspire us toward the future. They create a sense of belonging, discovery, experience, and connection. My work aims to engage your senses and create a door for you to step into another time and place.

Terri Crockett is a watercolor artist specializing in architectural illustration. She focuses on light and shadow, color and form to capture the essence of the built environment. Fortunately Terri was encouraged to make art by family and friends at an early age and began to develop her interest in realistic illustration during art classes in high school. She graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech in 2010 where she incorporated hand sketching and painting into her studio projects and briefly studied watercolor to document her European study abroad experience. After becoming a licensed architect and practicing for several years, she decided to focus once again on the intersection of art and architecture by starting her own art business. Terri lives in Chicagoland with her husband and two children.
